Bandits Threatens To Take Over TCN In Niger

The Regional Manager Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN Engineer Maiwada Sarki Bello has said that bandits have been threatening to destroy and take over the Shiroro dam in Niger state.
He stated this while addressing Newsmen at the Transmission Company of Nigeria Shiroro region in Niger state.
Engineer Maiwada Sarki Bello explained that some staff of Transmission Company of Nigeria were ambushed this year on there way to effect repairs on Shiroro Kaduna transmission line in which three policemen were killed.
According to him a staff of TCN was abducted this year by some bandits in Shiroro local government area where despite conserved efforts he remain under their captivity for three months before regaining his freedom.
Engineer Maiwada Sarki Bello however applauded the Federal Government for approving and providing them with a military task force Marine police on water DSS and a local vigilante Abu Doka to enhance their safely.
The Regional Manager TCN further said right now the rehabilitation and expansion programme targeted at replacing and phasing out all obsolete equipment’s at Shiroro, Kianji and other stations are in progress.
Engineer Maiwada Sarki Bello who spoke of plans by the TCN to construct new additional there thirty KV line from Shiroro to Kaduna also enumerated the ongoing projects being executed to include replacement of aged equipment by World Bank construction of new control room in Shiroro and upgrade of Minna sub station among others.
