War against Boko Haram, DHQ organises lectures to troops on soft, hard approach to counter insurgency, terrorism

In it’s efforts to effectivelly end Boko Haram insurgency, the Defense headquarters has organized a workshop (lectures) to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai on Kinetic (hard) and non Kinetic approach to counter terrorism and counter insurgency in the Northeast.

Speaking at the 3 day lecture on soft and hard approach to counter terrorism and counter insurgency which held at the Maimalari cantonment, Maiduguri, on Wednesday, the Theater Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Gold Chibuisi said Kinetic approach alone not end Insurgency, stressing that it takes both Kinetic and unKinetic approach to win the war..

Represented by his Deputy, Major General Olatujumbo Bello said ” this lecture is avail the troops the opportunity to know soft and hard approach to counter terrorism and counter insurgency and I am hopeful that at the end of the day you well equiped to fight the war against Boko Haram.’.

Earlier the team leader,Brigadier General, Marthias Erebuku said the 3 days lecture was designed to troop engaged in counter terrorism and counter insurgency across the military formation nationwide..

While commending the troops, Erebulu said ” the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) really appreciated your contribution to counter insurgency in the Northeast .

He said the team will also visit Magumeri and Gubio to present some educational material to pupil and students in the area as part of civil military relations by the Defense headquarters.

In his paper tilled sift and hard approach to counter terrorism and counter insurgency, the Guest Speaker, Dr Adam Abdullahi said the two ways in non Kinetic approach to counter insurgency m, which includes Civilian led and military protection and Mutary led and targeted Civilian approach to counter insurgency.

He said for a successful end to Boko Haram insurgency, there is the we need for the military to address inadequate platforms, funding military professionalism regional and global collaborations improved reintegration process for a sucessful end to it insurgency fight in the Northeast.
