Economic hardship, Senator Kaka Shehu empowers 1,720 constituents with livelihood supports

The Senator Representing Borno North at the National Assembly, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan has empowered 1,720 members of his constituents with livelihood supports and cash to curshion the economic meltdowns the country is facing.
Speaking during the distribution of the palliatives at the Government House, Maiduguri yesterday Governor Babagana Zulum commended the federal lawmaker for bringing succour to the people at this time of current economic challenges..
” Yesterday, we witness similar gesture from Senator Mohammed Monguno and today we are witnessing another empowerment from Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, we are also expecting from our other elected members to do the same. With that I believe we will join and bring succour to our people. Vice President Kashim Shettima and myself alone can not do it. But if come together we will go a long way in bettering the lives of our people”, Zulum said.
Zulum commended Borno state politicians for making commendable efforts in bringing development to the people of the state compared to politicians in other states.
“This cannot be achieved without commitment and discipline. We need to support him so that he can do more for our people. You see, he only spent six months in the National Assembly, but look at what he accomplished.”
He urged other elected politicians to emulate the lawmakers in contributing to the growth and development of small and medium businesses in the state.
In his remarks, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan said that the gesture is in fulfillment of his campaign promises, stressing that the Federal Government is concerned about the recent hardships faced by Nigerians due to fuel subsidy removal, the devalue of Naira and is working tirelessly to improve the quality of the lives of all citizens..
” During our electioneering campaign, we promised that we would not let you down. We have now started by empowering 1720 people in different fields, and we want to assure you that this is just the beginning. We will do our best to cushion the effects of the hardships experienced due to the economic meltdown in the country.” the lawmaker said
“Senator Lawan said “I am going to will establish a constituency office in the next couple of weeks, where our constituents will have the opportunity to interact with us. We will also continue listening to our people to solve their problems. By the end of our tenure, we will ensure that we completely fulfill our campaign promises.”
He said items to be distributed includes 20 Keke NAPEP, 500 grinding machines, 500 sewing machines, 250 deep freezers 50 generators, 50 water pump machines, 50 farm spraying kits with 20,000 cash for each beneficiary.
Lawan further said the beneficiaries were carefully selected vulnerable individuals among the youths, women groups, farmers tailors across the 8 LGAs of Borno Central Senatorial District.
Also, the Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) North, Ali Dalori, urged the beneficiaries to use the items given to them to increase their incomes, which would help in developing the state.
“These items will help you start a business that will sustain your family in this critical moment of economic meltdown in the country.”.
In his welcome address, the Borno state Chairman of the APC, Hon. Bello Ayuba, described the gesture as timely, considering the current economic hardships facing the people, adding that the gesture would help in reducing the negative effects of the current economic challenges.
He said ” senator Kaka shehu did not abandon his people, particularly when they needed him the most. I urge other politicians to emulate him in extending helping hands to their people.”
