Open Letter To Mr. President And The APC Government of The Day..
By Bala Salihu Dawakin kudu
Dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Government of the day.
We write this letter as concerned Nigerians, deeply troubled by the state of our nation and the recent decisions that have further deepened the hardship faced by the masses. The removal of the fuel subsidy, against the backdrop of widespread protests and the ongoing #EndBadGovernance movement, has left millions of Nigerians struggling to survive.
Mr. President, while we acknowledge the complexity of managing the economy and the various challenges inherited by your administration, we cannot ignore the fact that this decision has pushed many into unbearable hardship. The reality on the ground is that the removal of the fuel subsidy has led to a significant increase in the cost of living, exacerbating the already difficult circumstances faced by ordinary Nigerians. The basic needs of food, transportation, and electricity have become luxuries that many can no longer afford.
Your administration’s refusal to reconsider this decision despite the outcry from citizens demonstrates a lack of empathy and a disconnect from the realities faced by the average Nigerian. This is not the change Nigerians hoped for when they entrusted the APC with their votes. Instead of relief, they are met with increased suffering and a growing sense of disillusionment.
We must remind you that the primary responsibility of any government is to serve the people and to prioritize their welfare above all else. When the government fails in this duty, it loses the trust and support of the very people it is meant to serve.
Mr. President, the implications of this decision on your political future cannot be overstated. Nigerians are watching, and they are taking note. The growing frustration and anger among the populace should not be ignored. We assure you that if this path of hardship and neglect continues, the Nigerian people will make their voices heard at the ballot box in 2027.
The promise of change and a better Nigeria that brought you into office must be fulfilled, or the electorate will hold you accountable. We urge you to listen to the cries of the masses and to take immediate steps to alleviate their suffering. This is not just a political necessity; it is a moral obligation.
In conclusion, we call on you, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to reconsider your stance on the fuel subsidy and to take meaningful actions that will address the hardship faced by Nigerians. The future of our nation and the legacy of your administration depend on it.
Sincerely,
Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin kudu
