Water Scarcity Looms Maiduguri Specialist Hospital
By Daily Hint
Patients on admission at the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital now carry water in jerry cans to the hospital, following acute water scarcity at the hospital.
DAILY HINT revealed that the borehole which serves the water to male and female paediatric wards of the hospital has broken down.
Our correspondent gathered that the borehole supplying the hospital has brokedown for the past one week and staffs have been complaining but the authority incharge ignored their plea as services are facing epileptic turnout due to lack of running tap water across the hopital and it environs.
some patients go out at the risk of night pursuing water from vendors, adding that, now, the vendors occupy the front gate of the hospital and water business becomes the order of the day at the post office roundabout Maiduguri as the hospital is situated there.
Maiduguri Specialist Hospital (General hospital) is the biggest hospital and first owned by government in borno state, but lack of care and attention is turning the hospital to a nightmare for patients and medical staff of the management. Water supposed to be the top priority in our daily endeavours but that witnessed in Maiduguri Specialist Hospital is the worst of all and a big blow to borno state Government under the watch of Governor zulum the workaholic servant.
