180 Christians Pilgrims Set To Depart To Israel And Jordan In Adamawa

The 180, Christians pilgrims scheduled for pilgrimage from Adamawa State to Israel and Jordan are set to depart, from Yola International Airport on Friday night.
This was indicated at an orientation and farewell service organized for them Friday morning by the Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board which said the airlift from the Yola International Airport is slated for later in the day, at 10pm.
Executive Secretary of the board, Mr George Garba, in a vote of thanks during the farewell service conducted at the EYN Church, State Low Cost Estate, Yola, said the pilgrims will be back in Nigeria next month, February 3, after several days of visits to holy sites in both Jordan and Israel.
Mr Garba thanked the state government for subsidizing the pilgrimage, urgeping the pilgrims to make the best of the opportunity of their religious trip.
Earlier during the farewell service, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri who was represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, urged the pilgrims to shun all negative acts and concentrate on the pilgrimage.
She said “Be worthy ambassadors of your family, your faith, Adamawa State and the country as a whole.”
In his speech leader of the Government Delegation to the pilgrimage, Bwaltam Bentley Biyapo, the paramount ruler for the Mbula Kingdom in Demsa Local Government Area, advised the pilgrims to view their trip in purely spiritual light.
Reports indicate that the spiritual trip to Israel and Jordan by the Adamawa State pilgrims was to have been done last year and was accordungly termed Israel and Jordan 2024, but as in the other states across the country, the exercise was delayed.
