2016 Agreement: ASUU Task FG To Adhere To Outstanding

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the removal of Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions from the Integrated Personal Payroll and Information System (IPPIS) with aim at stabilizing the tertiary educational systems.
Chairman, Academic staff union of university, Modibbo Adama university Yola chapter, Dr El-Maude Jibrin disclosed in an interview with journalists in Yola, the state capital.
Jibrin noted that, “the recent removal of the Nigerian universities and other tertiary institution from the IPPIS is one of the positive step taken forward by the present administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at reviving the university system in Nigeria.”
He said, the former president Muhammadu Buhari administration has made everything difficult for the university to run effectively and accordingly due to forceful integration of the university and other tertiary institution into IPPIS.
On this not, Jibrin therefore commended the effort of the Minister of education Prof Tahir Mamman for ensuring the removal of the universities and other tertiary institution from the IPPIS.
He implore the Minister not to relent but also take note of other outstanding agreement of 2016, including the university revitalisation, Earn academic allowances and infrastructures among others.
Dr Jibrin urge the government to improve the working conditions of the Nigerian universities for the overall interest of the nation.
