9 persons were remand at Correctional Centre, Over alleged criminal Conspiracy, armed robbery in Adamawa

The Chief Magistrate Court I sitting in Yola, Adamawa State Capital issued the remand order of nine persons in correctional center when the defendants were arraigned before it for the offences.
The presiding judge, Magistrate Mohammed Njidda Fufore, remanded the defendants after they were arraigned before him for the offences.
The order followed the arraignment of the defendants before the court by the prosecuting police officers, Inspector S. S. Nicholas and ASP Frsncis Audu, respectively.
The defendants include: Abdulwahab Abdulkarim, Musa Mohammed , Ibrahim Buba, Mallamjo Yunusa, Haruna Umar, Musa Buba and Sumai Buba, pleaded not guilty to all the offences.
All the aforementioned defendants were arraigned on the same First Information Report tendered in court by Inspector S. S. Nicholas.
While the 2 other defendants including Samson John and Babangida Mohammed (aka Azare) were arraigned by ASP Francis Audu, for the offences of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery of which the former pleaded guilty while the later pleaded not guilty.
Arraigning the defendants, Inspector Nicholas, told the court that the defendants hail from Mbamba ward in Yola South LGA, saying that they were found in possession of 2 cutlasses, 2 knives, a horn and razo blade.
According to him, the team of police officers raided Yola South main market on 17th May, 2024 and apprehended the suspects.
He said that the defendants had denied both allegations of brigandage and armed robbery and sought for the adjournment of the matter to enable them transmit case diary to DPP for vetting.
While arraigning the defendants, ASP Francis Audu, informed the court that the 2 defendants were arrested on 13th May, 2024, by a local hunter who handed them over to the police.
He said that the hunter had while passing along Galaxy hotel in Numan sighted Samson standing beside the road whom he suspected and arrested him.
According to him, during interrogation, the defendant had confessed conspiring with the 2nd defendant as well as Yusuf Dan Aljanna and Peres Dan Small who are currently at large.
After the plea of the defendants, the presiding judge of the court adjourned the case to the 3rd June, 2024, to await legal advice from the DPP.
