Yobe Has No Record Of Mysterious Killer Disease  – Dr. Gana

Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana, the commissioner for health, has with strong terms Refutes the malicious and false rumours making head on social media that a mysterious disease has claimed more than 200 life in Potiskum and Nangere and mostly targeting youths.

Gov. Buni led administration built the biggest Child/ Mortality and healthcare centre in Africa and equipped with modern facilities and employed the best managers and also built 150 healthcare centres cut across the 17 local government areas and stocked with up to date facilities and medicines. It baffles me see online what has not happened in reality.  There is nothing as such in yobe state.

The Ministry which i oversee as the commissioner have conducted a thorough investigation and meeting with all Local Government Health teams, Directors of Primary Healthcare, and facility managers, who all confirmed that no such report ever existed,  they were all surprise to see it on social media.

Nonetheless, community health influencers, case search teams, volunteer community mobilizers, and voluntary informants across the state found no evidence of the reported disease of such.

The commissioner further stated  that,  it would be difficult for any health event to go unreported in the state, given the robust surveillance system put in place. He concluded that the report is orchestrated and dispelled by enemies of progress, he further said, it is false and has no moral backing that any mysterious disease of such appeared in yobe and its environs.

The Ministry’s swift action and thorough investigation have helped to dispell the alarming rumor and bring succour to the masses and state atlarge, Dr. Lawan advised the public to always be vigilant and substantiate claims by relying on credible and reputable source or media outlets for reliable update for avoidance of spreading false rumours.FB IMG 1714375623825FB IMG 1714375629773
