By Hussaini Ibrahim Sulaiman

Veteran Kannywood actress, Fatima Usman, known to all as Fati Slow, passed away on Monday near Sudan.

The news, confirmed by Kano activist Mansura Isa on Facebook a day later, plunged the Hausa film industry into mourning.

Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, Abba El-Mustapha, offered his condolences on social media.

Described as a warm and professional actress, Fati Slow brought characters to life with a captivating presence. Her passing leaves a void not just in Kannywood, but in the hearts of her fans.

A funeral was held near Sudan according to Islamic rites. Back in Kano, a special prayer for the deceased is ongoing at her family home in Unguwan Uku. Fati Slow’s legacy extends beyond the screen.

She was a role model who defied challenges and thrived in the film industry.

As Kannywood grieves, her influence will undoubtedly inspire future generations.
