HEDA, Partners trains 50 farmers on seasonal climate predictions in Adamawa.

The Human and Environmental Development Agenda,HEDA. Resource Centre in Conjunction with Nigerian Metro logical Agency and other partners have trained fifty(50) farmers and extension workers on seasonal climate prediction, SCP in Adamawa state.
Delivering her welcome address at the Nyako Center of the state secretariat Wednesday, local Coordinator,HEDA. Raqiba Haruna said that the training was a one day step-down workshop of 2024 seasonal climate prediction (SCP) and crop weather calendar for Adamawa state.
Haruna urged the participants driven from local government areas in the state to be attentive with a view to get useful informations from professionals who were engaged to guide them on how best to handle climate situations.
Haruna added that the training will expose the participants enough information on how to adjust planting schedule for the season and how to manage potential risk associated with drought or excessive rainfall.
She maintained that the training was organized by HEDA in partnership with NIMET supported by OXFAM under the AACJ project.
A participant,Hauwa Shettima from Yola South local council expressed gratitude and satisfaction with the training stressing that the knowledge impacted on them will go a long way to addressing the climate change affects.
Shettima pledged to ensure that the take aways from the training would be step down to the larger members of their communities for more gains as a people.
Daily Hint Correspondent reported that the training was conducted in an interactive sessions through zoom where participants and resource persons had interface on the seasonal climate predictions and crop weather calendar for this year (2024).
