Flood disaster: Tinubu approves N108 billion to Borno State
By Aremu Adebayo
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the allocation of N108 billion to support the states in addressing natural disasters, with each state receiving N3 billion to aid their efforts.
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, whose capital city is currently suffering from severe flooding due to the failure of the Alau Dam water channels, announced yesterday that he has received N3 billion from the Federal Government to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
In affirming the President’s endorsement of the disaster management fund, Shettima addressed the speaker, stating: “The President has shown his zeal, willingness and commitment to partner with the states towards addressing these issues.
“Recently, he approved the release of N3 billion to each state of the federation to address some of these challenges so that all parts of the federation should have buy-in and belonging.”
