Borno police apprehend notorious car theft suspect, two others for snatching valuables in Tricycle

The Borno Police apprehend car theft suspects, 2 others for snatching valuables in tricycle popularity known as Keke NAPEP., Recovered six vehicles.

Briefing Journalists at the Crack office, Maiduguri on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO), ASP Nahum Daso said “Arrest of Notorious Car Thief and Recovery of Stolen Vehicles, On 9th September, 2024 One Musa Abubakar reported to Police headquarters Maiduguri that his Toyota Corolla was stolen from his house. On receiving the complaint, the Police Crack Squad swung into action, arrested one Mari Paul and recovered the stolen vehicle.”.

The police said investigation revealed that the said Mari Paul who is a notorious car thief and specializes in stealing vehicles sold the vehicle to one Modu Ishaku

“Arrest of Two (2) Suspects involved in snatching valuables in Keke Napep.On October 2, 2024, at about 1300HRS one Luka Mora reported that the suspects snatched his Infinix Smart 7 phone and the sum of One hundred and forty three thousand, four hundred and ten naira (N143,410) while in a keke napep at Bulumkutu area, Maiduguri.”, PPRO said.

The command said ” Investigation revealed that the suspects’ modus operandi is slowing down in lonely areas, distracting commuters by shaking the keke, and snatching properties. Both suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for prosecution”,

The command under the leadership of CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, has achieved significant success in combating crime in Maiduguri. The command has cracked down on notorious criminals who specializes in car theft and recovered six (6) stolen vehicles.

He assured that the Command remains committed to eradicating criminal activities and ensuring public safety and security. …

He therefore warned Criminals to desist from nefarious activities or face the law.
