Gov. Buni Declares Open Three Days Retreat for Commissioners

The Executive Governor of Yobe state, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, today declared open a three day retreat for members of the State Executive Council in Kano.
Gov. Buni said that the retreat was coming just one week after the inauguration of council underscores the commitment of his administration to get the commissioners on one page for better understanding of the policy direction of the government for effective and efficient execution of government policies, programmes and projects.
He charged the Commissioners on Due Process saying, transparency must be maintained in doing government businesses.
Buni further said his administration will build on the successes recorded in the last four years to improve the lives of the people.
He rolled out the priority areas of his government in the next four years to include security, education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, wealth creation and employment, and infrastructural development.
Others include commerce and industry, water and environment, and climate change among others.
Earlier, the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali said the retreat was aimed at preparing both the old and new Commissioners to execute the vision and mission of the Buni administration with vigour.
Prof. Ishaq Olorede, The Secretary General, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Registrar JAMB, reminded the commissioners of the task awaiting them and their accountability for every action and inaction, in their public service.
Other papers on transparency and accountability in public procurement and others have been lined up for presentation.
The Commissioners are expected to be at the end of the retreat technically prepared for effective and efficient implementation of government policies to enhance delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
