Senator Iya Abbas Trained Over 100 Youths On Multi-Million Naira Capacity-Building In Adamawa

The Senator representing Adamawa central senatorial district, Aminu Iya Abbas, has trained over 100 constituents on a multi-million naira capacity-building and empowerment focused on Technology Skills Transfer on Innovation Technologies Evaluation and Preservation of Agro Produce to enhance food safety in the district.

The training, which is currently holding at the Nigeria Union of Teachers House in Yola, is been conducted by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) in collaboration with MAKPLAN Global Investment Nigeria Nigeria Ltd.

Speaking during the program, Senator Abbas, who was represented by Mallam Adamu Babikkoi Adamu PhD, explained that the participants, who were drawn from the seven local governments that make up Adamawa Central, were equipped not only with technical skills in mordern farming but also with practical knowledge of the biotechnology.

Senator Abbas, expressed optimism that the training would empower beneficiaries to become self-sufficient and contribute meaningfully to Adamawa’s agricultural economy.

On his part, Salihu Umar Babayi NBTI representative, described the programme as a rare opportunity also commended Senator Aminu Iya Abbas for always prioritizing the empowerment of his constituents, urging him not to relent in the good work he has been doing even when was in the state Assembly.

He assured the participants that, beyond the training, they would be empowered with resources to put their new skills into practice.

Addressing the participants, the Managing Director, Makplan Global Investment Limited Dr. Kabir Dan Maliki, urged the participants to use the  knowledge acquired during the training for the benefit of the district, noting that it would improve their farming practices and enhance their livelihoods.

Speaking separately during an interview with newsmen shortly after the training Mr. Jonathan Nathan from Hong local government Ummulkhari Mohammed from Yola North while expressing their gratitude, praised Senator Abbas’s effort in supporting local agriculture and enhancing economic empowerment in Adamawa Central.

They noted that the skills and resources acquired during training will enable them to become self-employed and create new sources of income.

Another participant, Mrs. Rifkatu John noted on the first day of the training that she had gained insights into best practices mordern farming, effective horticulture techniques, and strategies for maximizing yield and profitability.

They prayed to God to grant the Senator continued wisdom and success as he continues to serve the people of Adamawa Central effectively.
