Sen Abbas Trains Constituents on Renewable Energy Technologies

The lawmaker representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas has organized a Five-Day intensive training on solar power installation and maintenance for 50 youths as trainers targeting 500 young people across the constituency.
The event which commenced last week at NUT House, Yola is organized by the Senator in collaboration with the Energy Commission of Nigeria and Shining Structure Synergy Limited.
Speaking during the training, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas who was represented by one his close associates who doubles as Special Adviser to Adamawa Governor on Good Governance, Dr. Adamu Mallam Babikkoi, said the training is designed to provide youths in the zone with Renewable Energy Skills for them to be in tune with changing times.
He further revealed that, the beneficiaries who were drawn from Hong, Gombi, Song, Girei, Yola North,Yola South and Fufore local government areas that make up the Adamawa Central Senatorial district.
Senator Iya Abbas added that the beneficiaries would be provided with start-up tools after the training which will assist them to train others and serve as guide in the course of maintenance and other installation of solar system.
In his remarks the Director General Energy Commission of Nigeria who was represented by Alhaji Na’yaya Garba, explained that the beneficiaries had been equipped with the necessary skills for renewable energy technologies acquisition on solar hybrid system and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the knowledge acquired during the training for the benefit of the society.
On his part Mr. Nafi’u Tijjani who alongside N’ayaya Garba supervised the training in Yola on behalf of Energy Commission, commended senator Aminu Iya Abbas for his commitment in providing youths in the constituency with various skills for them to be self reliant.
Malam Aminu Alkali, a facilitator in the training, reminded the participants to conduct thorough assessments before installations.
Speaking separately, the vice chairman Girei local government council and Dr. Job Gundiri while urging the beneficiaries to make good use of the skills acquired and the tools that will be given to them for the overall development of Adamawa Central and the state at large described the training as timely.
Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Imamu Garba and Hingino Enock expressed their appreciation to senator Aminu Iya Abbas for the training, saying that the trainers had equipped them with valuable skills in Solar Power Installation and Maintenance.
