Two Clerics of EYN Church abducted as police assures to rescue victims in Adamawa

Two (2) religious clerics, Pastor Ishaku D. Ciwar and Reverend James Kwayam have been abducted by yet to identify kidnappers in Billa Village,Malabu district of Fufore local government area in Adamawa state.
The clerics attached to EYN Church were said to have been abducted in the wee hours Monday’s morning 30th December 2024 by the kidnappers who stormed their residences at Hayin Gada in Billa Village.
Reports from the area revealed that, the suspected armed assailants invaded their victims homes at 2:00am and whisked them away forcefully to an unknown destination. A situation that sent shockwaves of uncertainty amongst residents of the community.
In its reaction to the development, the state police command condemned the kidnapping of the religious leaders assuring the public that those behind the act would be apprehended in due course.
Spokesman of the Command,SP Suleiman Nguroje through a press statement issued Monday noting that the Commissioner of police in charge of the Command,CP Morris Dankwabo has already ordered for discreet investigation with a view to unraveling those behind the unprovoked kidnapping for possible prosecution.
Nguroje stated that, the police operatives have swung in to action with a view to bringing the sponsors, perpetrators to book and to rescue the victims unhurt being critical stakeholders in policy service in our societies.
“The Adamawa State Police command has vehemently condemned an unprovoked kidnapping of Pastor Ishaku D Chiwar and Reverend James Kwayam of EYN church Billa Malabu, at the early hours of today, December 30th, 2024.
“The incident occurred at Billa Malabu, in Fufore local government area , where the kidnappers targeted the houses of the victims situated at Hayin Gada, Billa village, Malabu district, Fufore local government area and kidnapped them.
“The kidnappers, who were armed with offensive weapons invaded the victim’s houses around 2:00 am and whisked them away.
“On the strength of that, the Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, deployed the command’s operational and manpower assets to give a hurt chase to the kidnappers, rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
“The progressive efforts of the command will definitely bring the perpetrators and other persons involved to justice, emphasizing the command ‘s commitment to safeguarding lives and resisting all forms of violence crimes in the state .
“The unprovoked kidnapping of religious leaders is unacceptable as they are critical Stakeholders in policing service as the command is appealing for calm, support, and cooperation of the general public in its quest to protect lives and property”. The release highlighted.
Updates on the rescue efforts and investigations will be provided as they develop. The police reaffirmed their resolve to ensure that such heinous acts do not go unpunished, vowing to restore peace and security to the affected community.
