We’re Focused On Ensuring Security And Peace Building In Adamawa -Fintiri

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has explained the importance of the media in building peace, security and development, which made his government give importance to the communication industry.
The Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Edgar Amos, made this known at the 2025 New Year Breakfast held by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Humwashi Wonosikou, with journalists on Monday in Yola.
He said that the government is committed to providing employment for the youths and developing agriculture and security.
He praised the journalists for their fair and unbiased reporting, which has effectively showcased the Governor’s commitment to good governance on both a local and global stage.
In his speech Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Mr Humwashi Wonosikou said “your tireless efforts to report the news, share our stories, and hold those in power accountable have not gone unnoticed.
In a world where misinformation and disinformation can spread quickly, your commitment to fact-based reporting and journalistic integrity is more important than ever. You have demonstrated a steadfast dedication to uncovering the truth, even in the face of challenges and adversity. This is a testament to your professionalism and perseverance.
Through your reporting, you have helped to amplify the voices of our citizens, sharing their stories, struggles, and triumphs with a wider audience.
You have highlighted the issues that matter most to our communities, from education and healthcare to economic development and social justice. Your work has helped to promote greater understanding, empathy, and engagement among our citizens.
As Press Secretary to the Governor of Adamawa State, I have had the pleasure of working closely with many of you. Your questions, insights, and feedback have been invaluable in helping us to communicate our policies, programs, and initiatives more effectively. You have played a vital role in promoting transparency and accountability in governance, and we are grateful for your partnership.
I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all the journalists in Adamawa State for your outstanding work. In there speech in the event, the president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Alhassan Yahya who was represented by the Union’s vice chairman northeast Comrade Zare Baba, Ishaka Dedan, the chairman of the NUJ Adamawa State and chairman correspondents chapel Padio Phineas, applauded the state government for fostering a peaceful and supportive environment that enables journalists to excel in their important work.
