UN-POLAC 2024: Dr Arabi Bags Honourary PhD, FUDECO, GESoL, Fadimatu Umar other Awards – Dodo
Seven distinguished individuals have made Adamawa State proud in peace building, mutual coexistence and promotion of cultural heritage, professionalism, integrity, fairness and philanthropy that earned them various UN-POLAC merit awards, Adamu Muhammad Dodo, the Country President II of the United Nations-POLAC revealed while interacting with newsmen in Yola, Adamawa State.
The 2024 UN-POLAC award recipients are Dr Muhammad Abdulkadir Bawuro Arabi who was decorated with the Honourary PhD in Sociology of Peace of the UN-POLAC’s Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution and Nurse Fadimatu Umar, former Head of Nursing Service Department of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, MAUTH, Yola bagged the prestigious Florence Nightingale (FN) maiden Peace Award, while Musa Mijinyawa Bala Esq and Mr Ibrahim Musa Labaran are appointed Peace Ambassadors.
According to the UN-POLAC CP II, Green Environmental Solution (GESoL) and Fulbe Development and Cultural Organisation (FUDECO) won the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Awards for Afforestation (Regreening the Environment) Nomadic Education and Cultural Heritage, respectively.
“The awards are purely based on merit, it is hoped to the recipients would take it as a challenge to intensify their efforts,” Adamu Muhammad Dodo said.
