Jobberman & Mastercard Foundation train 900 Young talents on Gain Career and Business Clarity in Adamawa.

ln an effort to improve entrepreneurship and self reliance among Nigeria youths, the Jobberman Nigeria in partnership with Mastercard Foundation have trained 900 young men and women on best ways to build and sustain their business careers in Adamawa state.
The capacity building training with the theme “Your Career Compass: Gain Clarity in Work and Business,” conducted in Yola Weekend recorded significant turnout of young men, women and people with special needs between the ages of 18 and 35 working or aspiring to work in agriculture, hospitality, or informal businesses.
In his welcome address at the occasion Olamide Adeyeye, Country Head of prog rams, Jobberman Nigeria, said that the
Adamawa Career Clinic was part of the Jobberman’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusive employment and entrepreneurial pathways for young Nigerians.
Adeyeye reaffirmed the organisation’s focus on local impact.“What we’re doing here in Adamawa is part of a larger commitment to equip young Nigerians with what they need to succeed, right where they are,” he said.
Adeyeye noted that through partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, they are reshaping how young people access opportunity – in jobs, in business, and in mindset with a sole aim of assisting them to attain independence to becoming employers of labour in the country.
He announced that, so far the ongoing skills acquisition training had been impacted on over 300,000 youths across the country under the Young Nigeria Works Programme.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr Juliana Omale, Lead Consultant at Innovate Highfliers Consulting Ltd., challenged attendees to think beyond survival and focus on growth. “Clarity means more than knowing what you want. it is about positioning yourself where opportunity lives, whether that’s in your skills, your business idea, or how you show up to the world,” she said.
Omale maintained that, the Career Clinic served as a platform for young job seekers and entrepreneurs, particularly those with 0 to 5 years of experience, to gain critical insights, develop their professional capacity, and receive personalised guidance.
Omale added that, from practical CV writing and interview preparation to entrepreneurial thinking and business model development, participants were equipped with tools to make informed career and business decisions.
She urge the participants to make sure that, the knowledge acquired is put in to practice with a view to safeguarding their businesses for the development of themselves and the country stressing that, the Clinic featured two breakout sessions running concurrently: one on Interview Etiquette and CV Reviews, which gave participants insight into building standout resumes, mastering interviews, and leveraging digital tools for job searches
While according to her, the second on Entrepreneurship Development, which focused on turning ideas into viable ventures within Adamawa’s local economy, particularly in agriculture, crafts, and hospitality.
“In addition to the breakout sessions, attendees benefited from one-on-one career counselling and CV reviews facilitated by Jobberman Youth Engagement facilitators, HR experts, and experienced entrepreneurs.
“These personalized sessions gave participants the opportunity to receive honest feedback, identify gaps, and walk away with a clearer understanding of how to move forward professionally.”she declared.
Participants interviewed by this medium including; John Anthony,Peninah Ishaku, and Fatima Musa expressed gratitude to the organizers of the training pledging to use the knowledge impacted on them judiciously in an attempt to reduce the unemployment challenge bedeviling the country.
