WFP Mastercard Foundation Salutes Gov. Buni, partners Yobe Govt

The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN has assured to provide a conducive environment for a result oriented partnership between the state and the World Food Programme (WFP).
He gave the assurance today when the Director of the Programme Mr. David Stevenson and the Director Mastercard Foundation Rosy Fynn paid him a courtesy call at the Government House in Damaturu.
Governor Buni commended the organizations for supporting the state in its recovery programme.
“l wish to solicit for more partnership to support our efforts in our recovery programme” Buni said.
The World Food Programme Director Mr. David Stevenson congratulated Yobe state government for successfully transiting from humanitarian services to durable solutions for lnternally Displaced Persons.
“I appreciate your wisdom, partnership and progress in finding durable solutions in resettling displaced persons in the state.
“The engagement of the youth and women in farming, provides the durable solutions towards sustainable means of livelihood” David said.
He expressed the readiness of the programme to continue partnering with the state government to unlock agricultural opportunities in the state.
Similarly, the Director of Mastercard foundation, Rosy Fynn, expressed the commitment of the foundation to engage youths, especially women from the state to benefit from the foundation’s intervention in Nigeria.
She said the foundation is working on a 30 million job opportunities for youth with emphasis to women beneficiaries.
