Adamawa Senator distributes farm inputs worth millions of Naira to 4,650 constituents

From Umar Dankano, Yola.

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe of the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District has distributed farming implements worth millions of Naira to constituents across the nine local government areas in his constituency.

The farming implements distributed included; 810 bags of 50kg fertilizer and 450 cartons of herbicides—each carton containing 12 one-litre bottles—alongside other essential farm inputs, bringing the total of items distributed to 1,260, with each LGA receiving 90 bags of fertilizer and 50 cartons of herbicides.

Addressing the nine local government area coordinators at the occasion in Mayo-belwa local council weekend, Mr. Katawan Boniface, Director-General of the Binos Campaign Team, stated that, the exercise was designed to support vulnerable farmers within the southern constituency devoid of political, religious or ethnic considerations.

Boniface declared that, the beneficiaries were selected from all 93 wards across the senatorial district, with 50 farmers per ward—amounting to approximately 4,650 beneficiaries.

“This is just the first batch for this year’s rainy season,” Katawan noted. “More distributions will follow to ensure as many peasant farmers as possible benefit from this empowerment drive. Senator Binos is committed to promoting agriculture and ensuring food security in the district.”

He stressed that effective mechanisms were put in place to guarantee transparency and ensure the items reach real farmers in need. Katawan added that the inputs were provided in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Focus Stability Limited (Lot G40z/2025).

Mal. Usman Inuwa, a close ally of the Senator, commended the initiative, describing it as a reflection of Senator Binos’ deep commitment to the welfare of his constituents. He noted that the support came at a critical time when farmers were in desperate need of inputs for early planting.

Mr. Raymond Robinson, the Coordinator of the Binos Team in Guyuk LGA, emphasized the fairness in the selection process. He disclosed that the team intentionally excluded previous beneficiaries to ensure broader reach and inclusiveness in the current round.

“This exercise is an annual tradition,” Raymond said. “We ensure that the items go to the right people—smallholder farmers who depend on their farms for survival.”

In Lamurde LGA, Hon. Gibson Ma’aji, who supervised the selection process, confirmed that only genuine farmers were considered. He reiterated Senator Binos’ instruction for fairness and transparency in the distribution, adding that local monitoring teams were put in place to avoid diversion of the items.

Other LGA representatives echoed similar assurances and called on beneficiaries to use the farm inputs strictly for their intended purposes.

Our Correspondent reports that the support by  Senator Binos Yaroe has been an annual event especially at the beginning of raining seasons with a sole aim to improving agric-ultural productivity significantly in the zone.
