Torrential rain wreck havoc in Adamawa communities, killing scores & Submerging many homes.

A heavy downpour has wrecked havoc in many communities in Adamawa state submerging homes and killing scores of residents including children.
The torrential rainfall which started at the wee hours of Sunday night while some residents were deep asleep only to woken up being submerged by water in the comfort of their homes leaving them left in a stage of shock and confusion.
Reports had it that the rainfall which lasted ten hours affected communities in Yola South local government area including; Modire, Yola-by pass,Yolde-pate, Shagari quarters( phase l and phase ll),Bole and wuro-hausa while areas like Jambutu,Anguwan tana,Bakin kogi recorded the flooding in Yola North council.
Many people are currently taking refuge in schools and residences friends and relatives who are living in highland areas sympathizing with the victims of the flood.
Efforts put to the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa state Emergency Management Agency,ADSEMA.Celine Laori were not fruitful as she didn’t not respond to calls put across to her through her verified mobile phone number at the time of filing in this report .
Even though the Agency (ADSEMA) was said to have issued warnings for residents in lowland areas to relocate to higher ground citing prediction that flooding could begin this month.
A flood victim simply identify Modi decried that the flood has never been so devastating as this year alleging that the impact could not be unconnected with the mining activities said to be carrying out some Chinese expertrates who were noticed been given water tight protection by security operatives attached to them.

During her visit to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, where some of the injured victims are receiving treatment, the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta expressed shock at the extent of the devastation.
Farauta directed the immediate provision of temporary shelters, food, clothing, and medical supplies to the affected individuals, emphasizing the government’s commitment to alleviating their suffering.
“We woke up to a terrible flood that has claimed two lives and left many injured. The government is deeply saddened by the losses and is mobilizing all necessary support to assist the victims,” she stated.
Dr. Yusuf Nuhu of the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Unit confirmed the casualty figures of two dead and reported that those hospitalized are responding to treatment.
Meanwhile, the Head of Operations for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ladan Ayuba, identified reluctance among some residents to evacuate their homes due to fears of looting as a major challenge hindering rescue efforts.
One of the victims, Aliyu Mustapha, lamented the loss of his means of livelihood and reported that some children remain missing after the floodwaters swept through their neighborhood.
