Adamawa: PDP local government Congress free, fair and peaceful Says Committee Chairman

The Chairman for the Local government Congresses Monitoring Committee of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP in Adamawa state Hon.David Lorhemba has said that, the congresses conducted on Saturday were”free, fair and peaceful” across the 21 local councils in the state.
Hon. Lorhemba, a former Speaker of the Benue state Assembly made the assertion during an on the spot interview with journalists in Girei local government area expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the congresses which were in consensus approach across most of the councils.
He noted that, party members across the state displayed maturity, orderliness, and cooperation in ensuring a rancour-free process commending stakeholders and members for embracing consensus in line with the PDP’s democratic spirit.
He also applauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his leadership role in uniting the party, stressing that his style of governance has strengthened the PDP at both state and grassroots levels which he ascribed to what the party needs now so that it will emerge victorious come 2027 elections.
Some political pundits interviewed on the exercise in the state viewed the completion of the PDP’s ward and local government Congresses as a move to consolidate the party towards the country’s general elections come 2027.
Daily Hint Correspondent reported that with the two congresses conducted by the party, attention is now shifting to forthcoming State Congress scheduled for next Saturday where the state executive officials would be elected as the Appeal Committee is expected to commence sittings on Sunday to receive and hear any petitions arising from the local government congresses.
