Supreme Council of Muslim Community urge Abia state government to revert cattle business revenue formula

The Vice President General Supreme Council of Muslim Community Eastern States, His Royal Highest, Dr.Eze Aliyu Musa appeal to Abia State government to revert back to the already established sharing formula of revenue accruing from cattle business.

Eze Musa made the appeal in Yola during a condolence visit to the lamido Adamawa over the demise of former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service and a brother to the lamido,late Ahmed Aliyu Mustapha,who died early September this year.

Musa told the lamido that the eastern states Muslim Community has a long time cordial relationship with his emirate which also promotes economic growth through cattle business from the North East to the southern region of the country.

He decried that the revenue accruing from the cattle business is being devided for the Abia state government which has 60% while Ummunahi local government area, Igbo Muslim Community and the Fulani/Hausa Community has 40% noting that the situation is no longer in practice due bureaucracy.

The royal father cum clergy appeal to the lamido to use his good office in intervening by adding his voice to their matter so that things may change for the good of all and sundry.

“We urge Your royal highness, the lamido Adamawa, as a father, a mentor and a national religious leader under the Modibbo Adama dynasty to kindly talk to stakeholders in this matter to intervene with a view to reviewing the revenue accruing to be shared as it used to be in Abia state in the interest of fairness and justice”.Eze Musa appealed.

In his response, the lamido Adamawa, His Royal Highest, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha expressed gratitude for the show of love for coming down to Yola to condole the royal family over the death of Prince Ahmad Aliyu Mustapha.

Barkindo applauded the efforts of the Igbo Muslim Community in propagation of Islam in the south eastern states which he stressed promotes unity, love and freedom of religion as provided in the country’s constitution.

The royal father announced a personal donation of N1 million to the lgbo Muslim Community under the leadership of His Royal Highness,Eze Aliyu Musa.
