Adamawa : 100,000 residents to access N5 Billion poverty alleviation support in December 2025.

The Adamawa state Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has concluded arrangements for the disbursement of N5 Billion to hundred thousand (100,000) beneficiaries in the month of December 2025.

Director General of the Agency, Mr. Zira Michael made the disclosure on Tuesday during an interview with journalists in Yola explaining that, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has graciously approved the said amount in line with his administration’s policy of poverty reduction and wealth creation since inception.

Michael said that the government’s effort had reduced the poverty index from 74% down to 60% stressing that 50,000 people have benefited from the financial support in the last six years of the Fintiri’s administration with 10,000 citizens empowered at the first round while 40,000 beneficiaries were supported in 2025 accordingly.

He maintained that, the Agency with collaboration with other stakeholders has created template for improved skills acquisition training for the yougstars with a view to make them independent in their separate area of specialization in courses including electrical engineering, Solar panel installation, fabrication of widows, tailoring,p.o.p making among others.

He advised the youth and women to take advantage of the opportunity provided for them to change the fortune of their lives noting that the new world order has to do with technical knowledge or skills one has not certification of knowledge any more.

Responding on cases of fraudulent activities allegedly invaded by some unscrupulous elements in the exercise, the Director General attested that, the Agency received complains on some people taking due advantage of others citing a case where 5 suspects were arrested for fraudulently changing the names of 1000 beneficiaries with other names.

He also confirmed that names of 1,560 supposed beneficiaries were blocked by the Agency due to dubious tendencies while another 7001 fake registration forms were detected urging people to be honest and truthful in their undertakings.
