2026 APC national convention: Buni appointed secretary central coordination Committee

ABUJA — Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has been appointed Secretary of the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party announced on Monday.
The announcement, signed by the APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D., BL, listed Governor Buni alongside other key figures in the committee, including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Chairman, and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as Vice Chairman.
The full committee comprises a total of 73 members drawn from across the country, including governors, senators, ministers, former House of Representatives leaders, and seasoned party officials. Other notable members include former Senate President Ken Nnamani, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, and House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila.
According to the statement, the committee is tasked with coordinating all arrangements for the 2026 APC National Convention. Details of its inauguration and operational plans will be announced in due course.
Governor Buni’s appointment as Secretary underscores his prominent role within the party and reflects APC’s approach of including experienced leaders in managing its key political events.
The inclusion of Governors Uzodimma, AbdulRazaq, and Buni, along with a broad mix of legislators and party stalwarts, signals the party’s intention to ensure a well-coordinated and transparent convention.
