Eid-el-Fitr: Yobe commences early payment of March salaries
By Hussaini Ibrahim
DAMATURU, NIGERIA — The Yobe State Government has commenced the early payment of March 2026 salaries to civil servants, following approval by Governor Mai Mala Buni ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Office of the Focal Person on Digital and Strategic Communications, Yusuf Ali.
According to the statement, the Ministry of Finance has already processed the payments to various banks, with many workers beginning to receive credit alerts.
The early disbursement, the government said, is aimed at enabling workers and their families to adequately prepare for the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr and celebrate with ease and dignity.
It noted that the gesture reflects the administration’s continued commitment to the welfare of workers across the state.
The statement further highlighted that since the inception of the Buni-led administration, the government has maintained a consistent record of prompt and regular salary payments, ensuring that civil servants receive their entitlements without delay.
It added that the state has sustained this record alongside the execution of development projects across critical sectors, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, and agriculture.
The government attributed the achievement to prudent financial management, discipline, and transparency in the utilisation of public resources.
Governor Buni’s administration, the statement noted, remains focused on improving the quality of life for residents through policies that prioritise workers’ welfare and sustainable development.
The early salary payment is expected to boost economic activities across the state as residents prepare for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
