Court affirms Misa as elected Adamawa Assembly member for Ganye constituency.

A court of Appeal sitting in Yola, the Adamawa state capital has affirmed the election of Hon. Misa Musa as the duly elected member of representing Ganye constituency in the last rerun election.
In Monday’s proceeding the court dismissed the earlier appeal filed by the People’s Democratic party, PDP.Hon.Buba Mohammed Joda upholding the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Misa of the All Progressives Congress, APC
Daily Trust Recall that, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC conducted a by- election for the constituency after the death of former member, Hon.Abdulmalik Jauro Misa who died on the 24th May 2024.
The court upheld the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal in Yola, Adamawa state which struck out the petition instituted before it by Hon. Buba Joda of the People’s Democratic party, PDP.
Justice Patricia Ajuma Mahmoud in her ruling on the appeal dismissed the case for lack of merit and awarded the sum of N3million in favour of 1st and 2nd respondents against the appellants.
Our Correspondent reports that the court verdict on the appeal has put an end to the protracted legal battle for the exalted seat at the hallowed chamber in the state Assembly.
