London Magazine Honors Uzodimma as Africa Leadership Face 2026 Award
By Hussaini Ibrahim
LONDON — A London-based Triangle International Magazine has named Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the Face of Africa Leadership and Governor of the Year for 2026.
The publication said the award, which recognises excellence in governance, is reserved for sub-national leaders whose vision, character and achievements have made significant impact within a calendar year.
Uzodimma received the award in London on April 2 during the 10th anniversary celebration of the magazine.
In a letter conveying the nomination, signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Femi Salako, the magazine said the governor was selected for his administration’s consistent demonstration of exemplary leadership, strategic foresight and measurable progress across Imo State.
The letter highlighted Uzodimma’s efforts in restoring critical infrastructure, including the construction and rehabilitation of major roads, improvements in healthcare delivery and investments in the power sector.
It also cited his administration’s initiatives in strengthening security, boosting investor confidence and stimulating economic activities as key factors for the recognition.
According to the publication, the governor’s people-oriented policies in youth empowerment, education reform and job creation have continued to promote inclusion and socio-economic development in the state.
The magazine further noted that Uzodimma’s approach to navigating fiscal challenges through innovative public-private partnerships and delivering sustainable development outcomes distinguished him as a transformational leader.
Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, has received multiple recognitions in recent years, including Governor of the Year 2025 awards by various Nigerian media organisations.
