Business tycoon Kwacham, & Gov Fintiri clash over Adamawa Senatorial seat.

Strong indications have emerged for a political clash between Governor Fintiri Ahmadu Umaru and a business tycoon cum politician, Abdulrahaman Kwacham over the Adamawa Northern senatorial seat in the 2027 elections.
The political associates and supporters of Abdulrahaman Kwacham brought the ancient border commercial Mubi town to a stand still while welcoming him back to home (Mubi town) on Thursday as part of his preparedness to join senatorial race to represent his people in the next Senate.
Speaking at the occasion, Abubakar Inuwa,a retired Deputy Controller of Immigration Service said Kwacham has contributed enormously in the development of his people and hometown,Mubi in so many ways especially in facilitating numerous emplo yment opportunities in to various private and public sectors for the youths,
Inuwa explained that, the people have been clamouring for Kwacham to answer their Clarion call which they believe will him latitude to ensure what belong to the people at the federal level can easily be attained to through his pragmatic and transformative leadership style.
Inuwa confirmed that their visit to the royal father, the Emir of Mubi , Alhaji Abubakar Isah Ahmadu was to seek for his blessings and prayers on the political journey in his domain noting that is only negotiations and understanding that can address the senatorial ambitions of his associate, Kwacham and that of Governor Fintiri or else they go to primary election as provided by the party’s constitution.
However, a Coalition of youth groups, traders, and politicians from the five local government areas of Adamawa Northern senatorial district have held a solidarity rally calling on Governor Fintiri to also contest the same Senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
These groups at the rally on Saturday in Mubi described the Governor as the “natural successor” to the district’s legislative seat,whom they are pleased with as a tested and trusted representa tive come 2027.
Speaking at the event, a prominent community leaders including the new Commissioner of Works and Energy Devt Hon.Suleiman Mohammed and Adviser to the Mubi North Council’s chairman, Adamu Risku noted that the call was not merely political but “a demand for continued progress.”
They emphasized that the Governor’s track record in urban renewal, particularly the dualization of roads and the upgrade of educational facilities in the zone, serves as a blueprint for what he could achieve at the federal level.
“We have seen the transformation in Yola and Mubi,the North deserves a Senator with the executive experience and the political weight to bring home the dividends of democracy. Governor Fintiri has proven he can deliver.”They stated
The momentum for this bid has intensified following the Governor’s realignment with the APC, a move that many local analysts say has unified the political structure of the zone.Supporters argued that Fintiri’s transition to the Senate would ensure that Adamawa North remains a priority in the national developmental agenda.
While the Governor has yet to make a formal declaration—maintaining his focus on completing his second-term projects—the “Fintiri for Senate” posters and social media campaigns continue to gain significant traction across the northern district.
Both Fintiri and Kwacham are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress whose associates and supporters are believing to have the experience, capacity and strength to represent the Adamawa Northern senatorial district in the forthcoming 2027 elections as watchers feels only time can tell who carry the day between the duo.
