Katsina 1/5/2026: Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON COMN has today inaugurated the 39-kilometer single carriageway Shargalle – Dutsi – Ingawa road reconstructed by the Katsina state government at the sum of N13.9 Billion.
Gov. Buni described road infrastructure as a critical pillar to socio-economic growth and development “it facilitates transportation of goods and services, trade, agricultural productivity, and strengthening social and economic ties among communities.
“The reconstruction of this important road will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the prosperity and well-being of the people of Shargalle, Dutsi, Ingawa, and the surrounding communities.
“The scale of investments in road construction and rehabilitation is a clear indication of purposeful governance and dedication to improving the lives of the citizens.
“I am glad to be part of this occasion as this also tallies with the development strides in Yobe state. It is indeed a celebration of the two states sharing common vision and mission to improve the lives of our people” Gov. Buni said.
“I am sure you are all proud of your governor for executing this road project. With this and the other completed projects, Gov. Dikko has done Katsina state proud, and has done APC proud.
“You, the good people of Katsina State should once again vote APC from top to bottom, from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the councillors in the local government councils” Buni maintained.
He urged the benefitting communities to take ownership of the road project, and protect it to ensure its proper use for the government to have value for the resources expended on the project.
Earlier, the Katsina state Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, said the government reconstructed the road following some years of dilapidation causing delay and untold hardship in transportation of goods and services.
He assured that his administration would continue to execute people-oriented projects to improve the lives of the citizenry.
Radda expressed appreciation for the honour done to Katsina state, with Gov. Buni serving as “our guest of honour at this historic occasion of commissioning this very important road project”.
Gov. Buni also received some decampees from various opposition political parties into the All Progressives Congress, assuring them of full membership and privileges.
