Expression of Interest to Contest for Bama Central Constituency Seat in the Borno State House of Assembly

It is with deepest respect and profound sense of responsibility that I write to formally inform you of my intention to contest for the position of Member, Borno State House of Assembly, to represent the good people of Bama Central Constituency in the 2027 general elections under the banner of our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Having personally seen the catastrophic toll of the insurgency on our beloved town Bama, a community our forefathers fought tirelessly to build and sustain and the ensuing neglect faced by our people, I have come to the firm conclusion that there exists a huge void in leadership and governance that must be tackled with alacrity, responsibility and foresight.

This belief, alongside the relentless calls and reassurance from our people for credible and decisive representation, inspired my earlier decision to contest in 2019 and again in 2023. While the outcomes did not favour our aspirations, the experiences have further reinforced my resolve and enriched my understanding of the task before us.

Going by my experiences in the National Assembly, in the public and private sector, humanitarianism and youth movements, I am confident in my capacity to effectively represent our people and contribute meaningfully to lawmaking and oversight functions. It is on this basis that I present my blueprint, THE BAMA RESTORATION AND REVIVAL AGENDA (coming soon).

Central to this agenda is the proposed establishment of the Bama Development Agency (BADA), a legislative initiative designed to pilot the systematic rebuilding of our communities, restore livelihoods and fast-track recovery efforts across the Local Government Area, similar in structure to the North-East Development Commission. This initiative is informed by credible assessments, including the 2017 United Nations (UN) report, which emphasizes the magnitude of destruction and the need for sustained, structured intervention.

Additionally, my agenda prioritizes economic revitalization, support for education, improved healthcare delivery, agricultural development and food security and enhanced security of lives and properties, through effective legislative advocacy and oversight.

It is therefore with humility and a compelling sense of duty that I seek your support, guidance and blessings as I embark on this journey once again. I am steadfast in promoting an inclusive representation that echoes the yearnings and aspirations of our people and delivers substantial progress to our constituency.
