APC Stakeholders Clears Coast For Baba Malam Wali

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Yobe state have reiterated their support for Baba Malam Wali, the preferred governorship aspirant of the party.
This is contained in a communique issued at the end of the stakeholders meeting in Damaturu on Sunday
The communique which was read by the President of the Ninth Senate Ahmad Lawan, said the stakeholders have aligned with the selection of Malam Wali as the party’s consensus governorship candidate.
Senators Ahmed Lawan, Ibrahim Bomoi, Musa Mustapha representing Zones C, B and A senatorial districts respectively, renounced their aspirations to support Malam Wali the preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
Other aspirants who withdrew from the race include former Inspector General of Police Usman Baba Alkali and former FCT Mandate Secretary, Alh. Lawan Kolo.
The stakeholders pledged to support the party and all its candidates at all levels.
The former aspirants pledged to collapse their political structures to support the party in the 2027 general election.
Earlier Governor Buni said the candidature of Malam Wali would guarantee continuity in policies, programmes and projects of his administration.
He commended the former aspirants for their sacrifice to build peace and unity in the party and Yobe state.
Buni assured more consultations and engagements for the remaining three aspirants including Bashir Machina, Engr. Maihaja and Kashim Tumsa to also withdraw from the race for the party to face the forthcoming national election with a united front.
