Gov. Buni Presides Over Routine State Security Meeting And Assured Peaceful National Qur’anic Recitation In Damaturu

GOV. BUNI PRESIDES OVER ROUTINE STATE SECURITY MEETING AND ASSURED PEACEFUL NATIONAL QUR’ANIC RECITATION IN DAMATURU.

His Excellency, the executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni (Chiroman Gujba) has today Wednesday 20th December-2023 presided over a routine State Security meeting at the Government House Damaturu, with the heads of security Agencies in the state in attendance.

The Governor, was represented by his Deputy Hon. Idi Barde Gubana ( Wazirin Fune) who disclosed that it’s pertinent to have a discussion on the security situation in the state and assured that citizens in Yobe state are safe and their property will be adequately protected.

He commended the Security agencies for their effort in ensuring peace, law and order in the state.
The meeting equally appreciated the effort of traditional rulers and community leaders in conflict resolution in their various domains

The Deputy Governor also informed the meeting the state is hosting National Qur’anic recitation competition in Damaturu, he assured the special guests and the contingents a safe and peaceful competition.

He explained that December usually comes with festivities which requires adquate surveillance and security of people throughout the occasion.

Shortly after the meeting, the Commissioner of police Yobe state Command Ahmad Garba briefed members of the press on the outcome of the meeting. He added by assuring that Security agencies would intensify surveillance and patrol activities in their areas to stop the menace of herdsmen, kidnapping banditry, rape etc.

He further explained that the fourth coming National Qur’anic recitation competition holding in Damaturu will witness high security presence to ensure hitch free competition.
He appealed to the people of the State to continue supporting the Security agencies and provide necessary information so as to continue enjoying the relative peace in the state.
The Secretary to the state Government and special Adviser on Security matters also attended the meeting.

Other head of Security agencies that were present at the meeting are, sector 2 commandant operation lafiya dole, Commissioner of police Yobe State Command, Director of Security services Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil defence Corp, Commandant Nigeria Drug Law enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Director Cabinet and Security Governor’s office.
