Urgent Call for Action on Pressing Issues Affecting Northern Nigeria, by Bala Salihu Dawakin kudu
Dear President Ahmed Bola Tinubu,
As concerned citizens and members of the Progressive Amalgamation of Northern Nigeria for Tinubu/Shattima (PANNTS), we feel compelled to draw your attention to the pressing issues that are currently affecting the Northern region and, by extension, the entire nation.
In recent times, our beloved country has been grappling with alarming challenges, most notably insecurities, poverty, and the dire consequences of the removal of fuel subsidies. The gravity of these issues cannot be overstated, and the impact on the lives of our fellow citizens, especially in the Northern region, is deeply troubling.
The surge in insecurity has left communities in constant fear, with lives and properties at risk. The socioeconomic implications of this insecurity exacerbate the already existing poverty in the region, leading to a perilous situation for the masses. Additionally, the removal of fuel subsidies has placed an unbearable burden on the common man, leading to increased hardship and suffering.
We believe that addressing these critical issues is not just a duty but a necessity for the sustenance of our great nation. We urge Mr. President, the National Leadership of APC, Stakeholders, APC Governors, Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and State House of Assemblies to come together, collaborate, and implement strategic measures to alleviate the suffering of the masses.
It is imperative to recognize that the current situation poses a significant threat to the support of the APC in the Northern region. The well-being of our people is intricately linked to the success and stability of our political landscape. By taking decisive actions to tackle insecurities, alleviate poverty, and reconsider fuel subsidies, we can demonstrate a commitment to the welfare of the people and secure the support of the Northern votes.
We trust that you will give due consideration to our concerns and work collectively towards a brighter and more secure future for our nation.
