Zamfara Gov. Visits Gusau Market Destroyed By Fire, Pledges Support For Victims

Governor Dauda Lawal has pledged a heartfelt commitment to extend all possible support and assistance to the victims of the Gusau Central Market fire incident.
A fire broke out at Gusau Central Market on Tuesday night, resulting in the death of one person and over 50 shops being burnt down.
A statement issued by the spokesperson of the Zamfara State Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said while assessing the damages caused by the fire, Governor Lawal vowed to help those affected by the tragic event.
He added that Governor Lawal has assured the affected individuals and their families that the government will do everything possible to alleviate their suffering and help them recover.
While addressing the victims of the fire incident at the Gusau Central Market, Zamfara State Governor condoled the leadership of the market over the death of one person during the incident.
“I would like to express my condolences to the market leadership and the family of the victim who passed away due to the recent fire incident.
“Even before the unfortunate fire incident, I constituted a committee to conduct a thorough investigation on how the government could intervene to enhance and develop the markets across the state.
“My government is committed to supporting the victims of the fire incident and will explore various ways to mitigate their loss.”
The Zamfara State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Abdulrahman Tumbido, disclosed that the government provided an emergency response to control and extinguish the fire.
Responding on behalf of the victims, the Chairman of the Gusau Central Market commended the Zamfara State Government for its prompt response following the unfortunate incident.
