Northern Nigeria will regain back lost glory – ANA Chairman
From Umar Dankano,Yola.
A new Northern states revival and survival Movement established by northern elites under the auspices “Arewa New Agenda”(ANA) has expressed its commitment towards reawakening its people to revive the lost glory of the region.
The founder and pioneer chairman of the Association (ANA), Former Senator Ahmad Abubakar Maolloyidi made the disclosure in an interview with journalists in Yola Tuesday stressing that the time is now for all hands to be on deck for the emancipation of the Northern region out of poverty and stagnation in all ramifications.
Senator Moalloyidi said that the Association is out in full force to ensure right steps are taken towards the right direction in making sure the north bounce back in the scheme of things especially with it’s endorsement of natural mineral resources which are untapped.
Moallayidi, a former Senator who represented Adamawa southern zone (2015-2019) explained that, the north has all it takes to be rich but due attention wasn’t given to the Agricultural sector which according to him the story should have been different by now.
He added that the formation of their platform is to provide the avenue where all the economic growth driven sectors are given the needed attention which will ensure progressive and aggressive change of narrative for good in the region.
“We have what it takes to be rich in our region (North) without waiting for handouts from the government s on we eat with our families.
“We are looking inwards with a view to harnessing the God given natural resources (endorement) available on our land untapped which can bring a stop to the unfortunate begging attitude we are engaging in to”. Moallayidi decried.
He also maintained that the Platform is working assidousily to sensitise the citizens in this part of the country to disregard any tool of decide and rule used by politicians create fame difference between us as Nigerians and unite for a common goal of economic and political development.
“We have to take our own destiny(s) in our own hands not to go begging by starting to harness agricultural potentialities in natural mineral resources, livestock husbandry among others in all our 774 local government areas in the country.
“We’re therefore, calling on all, our people to support and cooperate with us so that, in the near future things may work well for all of us as a people devoid of any sentiment attached”. Moallayidi appealed.
