Yobe State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, the executive Governor of Yobe State Hon Mai Mala Buni CON is stepping up to support communities during Ramadan in light of economic challenges and rising commodity prices.
A statement by the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, Mohammed Goje, which was made available to the DAILY HINT said the agency is launching a vital initiative to distribute essential food items across the state.
According to him, the state government has concluded plans for the distribution of food items that include rice, maize, millet, and sorghum to vulnerable populations.
“This effort aims to cushion the impact of economic hardships and alleviate the burden on vulnerable citizens. This initiative underscores the commitment of His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni to the welfare of every Yobe citizen.
“The distribution process will be conducted transparently and equitably, with a focus on reaching the most vulnerable in need. Through collaboration with community leaders/ gatekeepers of 17 Local Government Authorities, religious organizations, and other community-based structures, the government will ensure that the food items reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently and effectively,” Goje added.
He, however, urges beneficiaries to remain cooperative throughout the distribution process, emphasizing the importance of unity, peaceful co-existence and continuous support of government policies and programmes in the state.
