Crisis rocking Yola Federal civil service Club: Head of Service urged to intervene

From Umar Dankano, Yola.

Some aggrieved members of the Heads of Federal Establishment Association in Adamawa state have urge the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr.Yemi Folashade to wade in to the crisis rocking the leadership of the Union in the state over alleged illegality.

Findings by this reporter in Yola revealed that the composition of an interim committee to handle the activities of the Union in Adamawa state which was said to have exceeded the constitutional provisions of the Union’s constitution created the squabble among the members as two are alleged to have held in to leadership positions as ‘care taker committee ‘and refused to conduct election for proper leadership.

In a letter of complain addressed to Dr.Folashade and privy to this paper on Wednesday in Yola seeking for the enforcement of an immediate conduct of free and fair election with a view to end an alleged era to an self imposed interim leadership since the club was commissioned in December 2022.

“All we want is for justice and rule of law to prevail. We  only want proper election. Enough is enough ! Our mother the

Head of  Civil Service (Mrs Folashade), pls come to our rescue as the present interim managers have boasted they are well connected in  Abuja.

“Our  Federal Civil Service Club in Yola  has no bank account after it generates millions? Monies  are paid in  to personal

accounts..This is unacceptable”.The letter stated.

They (aggrieved members) also decried that, two man interim committee constituted by the Director Occupational Health Safety and Environment, Dr. Comfort Adeosun as interim has banned all federal civil servants in Adamawa from membership of the club.

However, investigation by these aggrieved members from the office of the Head of civil service in Abuja shown that Dr.Adeosun brought a questionable and fraudulent letter dated November 27th 2023 claiming to be acting on the instructions of Dr. Folashade(HOCSF)

constituting the embattled two man interim committee with Marshall Johnson as publicity secretary and Ayuba Mboh, as Secretary General.

Part of the letter reads, “I am directed to convey the approval of the Head of the federal civil service of the federation for the Constitution of an interim management of the federal civil service club Yola, Adamawa state, with Marshall Johnson as publicity secretary and Ayuba Mboh as secretary general,. “.

They also accused Dr. Adeosun interim committee of  refusing to register all head of federal establishments and other senior federal civil servants as members, saying that they don’t have ID cards and must get endorsement from the Director Human Resources in their headquarters Abuja to be members.

All efforts to reach out to Dr.Adeosun for her response at the time of filing in this report proved abortive.

It could be recalled that, federal civil service club was commissioned on 7th, December, 2022 by Head of Federal Civil service of the federation Dr. Folashade Yemi, for federal civil service workers in Adamawa state.
