AADARAI Borno State Chapter Bestows Award of Excellence on Work & Housing Commissioner

The Advocacy Against Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Awareness Initiative AADARAI, Borno State Chapter, has today undertaken a high-profile courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Housing, Hon. Engr. Mustapha Gubio, at his office in the Musa Usman Secretariat, Maiduguri.

The visit, steeped in both ceremonial decorum and strategic dialogue, culminated in the conferment of an Award of Excellence upon the Commissioner in acknowledgement of his seminal contributions to youth empowerment and societal reformation within the state.

Presenting the honour, the Borno State Coordinator of AADARAI, Engr. Mohammad Lawan, lauded Hon. Gubio’s visionary interventions and sustained commitment to nurturing the intellectual, vocational, and moral capacities of the state’s youth.

He accentuates imperative for continued inter-institutional collaboration, positing that the scourge of drug abuse being both a public health crisis and a socio-economic destabiliser that demands a united and multidimensional response.

He equally paid tribute to the transformative leadership of His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, whose administration, he observed, has exhibited a resolute and systematic approach to the eradication of narcotic abuse and attendant social vices.

He noted that the Governor’s policy architecture, which anchored in evidence-based strategies and community engagement, has begun to yield tangible results in rehabilitating affected youths and restoring social cohesion.

The engagement not only reaffirmed AADARAI’s institutional resolve to advance the discourse on drug abuse prevention and rehabilitation but also fortified the prospects for a strategic alliance between civil society and the machinery of governance in pursuit of a morally reconstituted and economically vibrant Borno State.
