Adaeze Ossai: Championing Literacy and Empowering Communities

Adaeze Ifeyinwa Ossai is a woman whose impact on society goes far beyond her role as the wife of Ifeanyi Ossai, the Deputy Governor of Enugu State. With a strong academic background and a deep commitment to community service, Adaeze has made notable progress in advancing literacy and empowering communities.

Adaeze began her academic journey at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, where she earned a degree in Economics. Her pursuit of knowledge continued as she completed a Master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. This solid academic foundation has equipped her with the tools necessary to succeed in both her professional career and philanthropic work.

Adaeze’s professional path is just as impressive as her academic accomplishments. She worked with Oxfam Nigeria, contributing to both the Gender and Humanitarian units. Her role at Oxfam allowed her to tackle critical issues affecting vulnerable groups, especially women and children.

She is currently employed at the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, a prominent energy generation company headquartered in Abuja.

Advocacy for Literacy:

One of Adaeze’s key passions is promoting literacy. She firmly believes in the life-changing power of reading and writing and is committed to fostering a love of books among young people. She has established reading clubs and created reading corners in schools, distributing books to encourage as many young readers as possible. Her initiatives aim to build a culture of reading and learning, which she sees as vital to both individual and societal development.
