Adamawa CAN Chairman presents Christmas gifts to inmates in Yola prison.

The Adamawa state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN,Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza has charged inmates serving jail terms in Nigeria correctional centres  to see their situations as part of their destiny in life.

Bishop Mamza gave the charge while on a visit to Yolde-pate Mega correctional facility in Yola weekend stressing that their stay in the correctional centre should be a source of strengthening their faiths.

Mamza told the inmates that, the visit was part of the Catholic Church,Yola Diocese routine especially during festive period like Christmas where love and merriment are shared among mortals as ordained by the supreme being (God).

Mamza who doubles as the Bishop of Catholic Church Yola Diocese took time to preached to inmates about religious demands from faithfuls in every condition they are, noting that, their confinement at the facility should be another source of transformation in character and in faith.

“Your present condition of being here (in the prison) should serve as source of strengthening your faith and transforming your character for good.

“Almighty God knows all about everything and everyone as He directs what happens to us.so we wish you Merry Christmas”. Bishop said.

The Bishop also presented some  items brought to the inmates as Christmas gifts including; 13 Cantons of soap,9 cantons of Vaseline cream,3 omo detergent, 2 Cantons of Izal germicide.

Other gifts were; 12 bags of 25kg parboiled rice, over 20 different assorted drugs and a cow accordingly.

Responding on the gesture,the officer in charge of the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Assistant Controller of the Center,ACC Musa Usman Gambaki expressed delight with the support pledging to ensure judicious use of the items.

ACC Gambaki advised the youths to be obedient to their parents and to worship the creator as ordered in our scriptures stressing that research had revealed that most cases of criminality are caused by disobedience to the parents in our societies.
