Adamawa Governor Distances Self From Party’s Decision To Expel FCT Minister & Others
From Umar Dankano, Yola.
As the internal political crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic party(PDP) deepens with the expulsion of the Federal Capital Territory,FCT. Minister, Nyesom Wike and others by the party, Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has disassociated himself from the position of the party.
Governor Fintiri who is widely believed to be close Associate of the embattled Minister Wike made the disclosure through a press statement issued by his media aide, Humwashi Wonosikou over the weekend urging the party to apply reconciliatory measures than taking harsh decision in handling internal issues affecting the party.
Fintiri and Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party 2025 Elective National Convention, noted that, the decision is not in the best interest of the party, and will not be party to any attempt that could further plunge the PDP into unending crisis.
“As a faithful party member, my position is clear: I stand for the peace and stability of the PDP, and I will not support anything that could lead to its disintegration. I believe that peace and reconciliation are the only ways forward for our great party.”
“I urge all stakeholders to work towards healing the divisions within the party and to strive for unity and cohesion. As a party man,l remain committed to supporting efforts that promote peace, stability, and progress within the PDP”. The statement highlighted.
The Governor reiterated that his position is guided by the desire for peace and reconciliation, and will continue to work towards achieving this goal.
However, some political pundits viewed the ongoing political squabble in the PDP as a signal to the final collapse of the one ruling party due unreconciliatory lingering leadership tussle within the party.
