Adamawa : “Mama Mai Transformer” Golfa,Leads House-to-House Mobilisation on APC e-registeration
From Umar Dankano,Yola.
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress,APC membership electronic registration (e-registeration) train has landed in Guyuk/Shelleng Federal constituency of Adamawa state.
An Aspirant of the Guyuk/Shelleng Federal constituency and stalwart of the party, Mrs Golfa Mallim who is spearheading a massive grassroots mobilization campaign on the exercise in the Constituency which is attracting more entrants in to the party.
Findings revealed that the mobilisation effort came in the wake of the recent defection of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, a move that has triggered widespread political realignment in the state.
Governor Fintiri has since collapsed his political structure in to the ruling party to intensify mobilisation efforts with the goal of registering one million new members into the APC within ten days.
In response to the such directive, party structures at local government and ward levels have activated registration teams across communities, moving from house to house to encourage residents to join the party.
However, Mrs Golfa who also recently defected to the APC alongside other supporters of the governor, has taken the campaign further through her awareness team which has since commenced touring communities across the Guyuk–Shelleng constituency, sensitizing residents and assisting them with the registration process.
Speaking during one of the community outreach Golfa said her involvement in the exercise goes beyond political ambition, describing it as a personal commitment to the success of the party.
“Although I am an aspirant, I see this as an obligation to the APC which I recently joined. I do not need to wait until I win an election before working for my party,” she attested.
She added that as a loyal supporter of Fintiri, her contribution is to ensure strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I am a strong loyalist of Governor Fintiri and also committed to the APC. My goal is to play my role in ensuring the party succeeds and takes over the affairs of governance in Adamawa State in 2027,” she added.
Golfa who commended Fintiri’s leadership style and development initiatives in the state drew parallels between the governor’s developmental agenda and the national reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Governor Fintiri has transformed Adamawa State into a centre of attraction, just as President Tinubu is working to reposition the country.
“Based on this, my supporters and I are committed to sustaining and expanding this development in 2027 and that, the
Community members have also acknowledged the impact of her mobilisation campaign”. she asserted
An APC member, Mr. Baba Yaro, told journalists that the turnout for the registration exercise in the area was unprecedented, attributing the development to Golfa’s personal effort and commitment.
“In this community, this is the first time I have seen such a large number of people coming out to register in a political party exercise,” he said.
He praised her dedication despite not currently holding any political office.
“She is not holding any political office at the moment, but what she is doing with her time, talent and resources in this constituency is remarkable.
“This is the first time I have seen someone so selfless, supporting government and making the impact of democracy and community development felt,” he added.
Also speaking during one of the community visits, Hajiya Hauwa Zubairu commended the “Mama Mai Transformer” initiative for relieving residents of the stress of queuing under the sun to register.
“This is the Ramadan and Lent season. While observing the fast, it is not easy for us to remain under the sun for the APC registration even though we want to participate.
“However, Mama Mai Transformer has made it easier for us to take part in the exercise by bringing it to our door steps We are grateful to her,” she said.
The mass registration exercise commenced shortly after an expanded stakeholders’ meeting involving both legacy APC members and new entrants who recently defected from the PDP.
Party officials say the exercise will run for ten days across Adamawa State as part of a broader strategy to consolidate the party’s strength ahead of future elections.
Before the recent wave of defections, the APC had already registered over 450,000 members in Adamawa during its last electronic registration exercise.
However, with the influx of supporters loyal to the governor’s political bloc, Golfa—popularly known among supporters as “Mama Mai Transformer”—expressed confidence that the figure would more than double within the ten-day period.
According to party stakeholders, the decision to align with the ruling party at the federal level followed extensive consultations with grassroots supporters across the state.
They argue that political alignment with the Federal Government would enhance the prospects of attracting more federal projects, programmes and development initiatives to Adamawa State.
