Adamawa: NLC unveils FG’s CNG-powered Buses for North-East.

The president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajearo has urged the Adamawa state governt.to as a matter of urgent public importance to establish re-filling stations for CNG vehicles in the state.
President Ajearo made the demand in Yola on Friday at the unveiling ceremony of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses for North Eastern states under the Federal Government initiative to boost the transportation sector in the country.
Ajearo said that, ten (10) CNG buses were allocated for the region to ease transportation as embarked by the FG in other parts of the nation appealing to state governments to complement the effort for the benefits of their people.
While appealing to the Federal governt. to purchase more buses to ease challenges in transportation sector as 10 buses were not enough for the region.
He commended Adamawa government for the cordial relationship with the NLC and his flight for the civil servant.
In his remarks at the occasion held at the famous Mahmud Ribadu Square,Gov. Fintiri commended Federal Government for providing the CNG buses for the region and called for more.
Represented by Dr Edgar Amos, Chief of Staff Government House, Fintiri also applauded the organized labour for their commitments to labour struggle.
“As government, we take the issue of welfare of workers serious, in the last six years we ensure payment of salaries on or before 25th of every month.
“We also purchase several buses to ease transportation at subsidized rate,” he stated.
He urged NLC to remain united and consider the interest of the common man in the society.
Adamawa state Chairman of the NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe expressed optimism that the buses would definitely solve transportation problems in the state.
Fashe appreciated Gov. Fintiri for immediate implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage and for providing enable environment for labour to host its 2025 NEC meeting in the state.”
