ADHA Passes Bill To Create More Districts
From Shafi’u Saleh
Adamawa State House of Assembly has just passed a bill for a law to repeal and re-enact the Adamawa State Districts Creation Law, 2024, on Wednesday.
The passage of the bill followed the consideration and adoption of the report of House Standing Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs headed by Hon. Kefas Calvin (Toungo Constituency).
The Majority Leader of the assembly, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa constituency) moved a motion for the 3rd reading of the bill and seconded by Hon. Suleiman Alkali of Yola North.
After the passage, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, directed the Clerk to prepare clean copy of the bill for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s assent.
If you remember, recently the people of the state requested the governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to create new districts, where the governor forwarded the request to the Adamawa State House Assembly for approval.
