ADSIEC screen and clears 60 chairmanship candidates for July 13th election.

The Adamawa state Independent Electoral Commission,ADSIEC has screened and cleared 60 candidates of various political parties contesting for chairmanship positions in the forthcoming July 13th 2024 in the state.
Chairman of the Commission, Mr.Mohammed Umar Jabu disclosed the development in Yola Tuesday while addressing the media on level of the Commission’s preparedness stressing that twelve (12) out of the nineteenth (19) registered political parties will be participating in the scheduled local government councils election.
Jabu said the state government has approved and released over N500 million requested by the Commission to cover the expenditures to be incured for the election noting that all activities are moving smoothly as planned so far.
Jabu stated that the Commission would be using the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for 2022 reading 1,976,000 registered voters maintaining that adhoc staff have been engaged to support the Commission in the 4,104 polling units in the 226 wards across the 21 local government areas.
While pledging to ensure a labelled playing ground for the participating parties,Jabu vehemently denied an allegation that the Commission is siding with the ruling peoples Democratic party
He announced that the twelve parties to participate in the election are ; Accord party, Action Alliance, A.A.C, A.P.M, Labour Party, A.P.P and N.N.P.P.
Others includes; N.R.M, P.D.P, APGA,P.R.P as well as Africa Democratic party (ADC).
Our Correspondent in Yola reported that the remaining political parties especially the Social Democratic party, SDP and All Progressive Congress have made their position of non participation known recently accusing the Government and PDP of alleged manipulation of the entire Electoral process.
