Again, military hands over 75 rescued Boko Haram victims to Borno govt

In continuation of it’s offensive on Boko Haram insurgents, the Northeast Operation Hadin kai ( OPHK), of the Nigerian Army has rescued and handed over 75 rescued Boko Haram victims to the Borno state government for further rehabilitation band reintegration back to the society.

Presenting the rescued person’s to the Borno state government at the Maimalari cantonment, Maiduguri on Monday, the theater Commander Operation Hadin kai, Major General Wahidi Shuabu said “This handover ceremony marks another milestone in our mandate towards restoring lasting peace and stability in the North East. OPHK will continue to sustain its momentum until total victory is achieved”

“As part of our ongoing clearance efforts, troops from the 21 Special Armoured Brigade and 199 Special Forces Battalion recently conducted successful offensive operations under OPERATION DESERT SANITY IV in the sambisa Forest. Key terrorist enclaves in Ukuba, Njimia, Sabil Huda, Garin

Falluja, and Gobara were cleared, leading to the rescue of 75 civilians, including seven adult males, 34 women, and 34 children.”., General Wahidi Shuabu said

The theater Commander represented by his Deputy, Brigadier General Anthony Okpodu said ” on behalf of the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), I welcome you all to this important event. Today’s handover ceremony highlights the collective efforts of OPHK, the Borno State Government, and key stakeholders in stabilizing the North East and ensuring the safety and well-being of civilians affected by insurgency.”

He assured that the theater command remains committed to its primary mandate: facilitating the restoration of normalcy in the region to enable socio-economic activities to thrive, stressing that alll operations conducted by OPHK are focused on eliminating insurgent threats, protecting civilian populations, enabling governance structures, and ensuring the resumption of economic and social activities without hindrance.

“Beyond security operations, OPHK remains committed to humanitarian efforts, particularly in alignment with the World Health Organization’s (WHO)

Reaching Inaccessible Children (RIC) initiative. During the recent operations. troops provided crttical interventions, including child vaccinations, first aid,

also. Rescued civilians medical cure, and the dlstrdbution offood and relief naterials. were given imedlate medfcal attention, clathing (as you all can see them wearing their Hijab clothings), food, psychological support and temporary shelter pending reintegration efforts.

Collaboration with the Borno State Government and humanitarian bave been cruclal in this effort towards ensuring that rescued individuals receive the care and support they need.”, the theater Commander said.

He said “, OPHK deeply appreciates the unwavering support of the borno State Government, particularly the leadership of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno state Prof Babagana Umara Zulun as well as the Ministry of Women Affalrs and Social Development, for the pivotal role in caring for rescued civilians, especially women and children.”

He also assured that the theater command remains resolute in its mission to eliminate threats of insurgency, secure liberated areas, protect lives and property, and create an enabling environment for governance and socio-economic development, .

He urged general public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security forces, and report any suspicious activities to enhance collective security ellorts.

Also speaking, the Chief Military Intelligence, , Brigadier General, Adebayo Adekola Said the rescued were profiled and undergoing medical screening before clothing and provided temporary shelter..

He urged members of the community to accept them back to the society for peace to reign in the state and the region in general..

While reviving the rescued person’s, the Director social welfare, Borno state ministry of women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Shettima thanked the military for rescuing the victims and their efforts in restoring peace back to the society..

“We are going to profile them, carry out medical psychosocial examination, give them livilhood training, cloth them and for the children we are going to tracing to unite them with their families”, Mrs Shettima assured.
