By Mohammed Tijjani
Shanghai, China— Carrying the banner of progress and stability under His Excellency Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, Alhaji Goni Dunoma the First Deputy President Borno Chamber of Commerce Industries Mines and Agriculture BOCCIMA has taken Borno State’s renewed confidence to the global investment arena.
Representing the interests of the state at the Nigeria–China Trade and Investment Meeting, held during the prestigious International Import Expo in Shanghai, he pushed forward a clear political and economic message: BORNO IS RISING.
The gathering featured Nigeria’s top economic diplomats and policymakers, including Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, Executive Director/CEO, NEPC; Mr. Abu Yerima, Director, NIPC; Mr. Hassan Mohammed, Deputy Trade Commissioner to China; and Dr. Bakare Ilesami Abiodun of the Consulate General in Shanghai.

He affirmed that the era of insecurity defining Borno is behind us, thanks to years of relentless effort, courage, and people-centered governance under Prof. Umara Zulum.
He stressed that the renewed peace, infrastructural expansion, and economic revival across the state are not coincidences, but the direct results of Governor Zulum’s 25-year development vision, a master plan rooted in security, human capital empowerment, and investment growth.
He also declared that Borno is not just safe— it is open for business and positioned for global partnerships in agriculture, renewable, Agricultural livestock, Manufacturing, Import/Export, Technology, energy, solid minerals, commerce, and industrial processing. called on China to join hands with Borno at this pivotal moment of transformation, leveraging mutual opportunities for trade prosperity and long-term development.
He delivered a message that echoes strongly with the political base:
“Under His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Borno has moved from survival to strategy, from fear to future. Investors are welcome— BORNO IS READY.”
This strategic diplomatic engagement marks another milestone in consolidating the progress of the Zulum administration and amplifying Borno State’s position as the new destination for international investment in Nigeria’s Northeast
